Expo 2017 - Results and Pictures

Thirty-four modellers entered some 177 models into 15 categories of the competition.  The consensus was that the quality of modelling on display was of a very high standard and comparable with other Aussie and international competitions.  

As well as winning the diorama category, Mark Smiths superb WWII diorama, also won the Best of Show and People’s Choice Awards.  Modellers from Mackay and Rockhampton were in attendance and took several wins and places back home with them. 

Over $1000 was raised and distributed to the Army Museum NQ and Hounds4Healing.

2017 Model Expo and Competition

N-Q-Scale-Modellers are pleased to confirm that their third annual model expo and competition will be held on Sunday Oct 1st at the Army Museum of North Queensland  at Jezzine Barracks.

All scale modellers are welcome to enter their models into the competition and the expo will be open to the public for viewing.  For details of the competition rules click here.  An entry form can be downloaded here.

Timetable of Events

Saturday 30 Sept 2017

9am to 2pm  -  Toyworld,  Hyde Park Centre - Model building display, Raffle  and Sale on model kits , Hounds for Healing in attendance, sausage sizzle.

3pm to 5pm - Competition entries accepted at the Army Museum North Queensland.

6pm to 10pm - BBQ and Buy Swap Sell Meet. This is a private event open to current members of North Queensland Scale Modellers, Mackay Scale Model Club, Rockhampton Scale Modellers Association and others by invitation only, contact scalemodelers_nq@outlook.com for further details.

8am to 9am - Competition entries accepted at the Army Museum North Queensland

9am to 1pm - Expo display open to the public , a gold coin donation in lieu of formal entry fee appreciated.

10am to 12pm - Competition judging by all entrants "NNL" style

1pm - 2pm  Awards presentation
