2020 Expo Wrap Up

Despite the challenges of organising and running a model competition and expo during COVID 19 this years event was without doubt a great success.  We thank the Army Museum for their patience and assistance in getting it off the ground and compliant with the current regulations.

Whilst entry numbers were somewhat lower than last year, 125 models submitted by 26 modellers, the general consensus was that the quality of work displayed was outstanding and equal to that seen in major competitions both here and abroad.

A special thanks to the Mackay and Rockhampton modelling groups who not only contributed many of the models on display but took away a good many well deserved awards as well.  Their willingness to travel, camaraderie and banter as usual are greatly appreciated.

A special thanks to Bill Thurly for judging and the NQSM members who assisted in the lead up and on the day.

Finally a big thank you to our sponsors , especially The RC Shop. If you are able in the coming year to support the businesses listed on the right than please do!

As a result of the expo we were able to donate $605 to each of our beneficiaries , The Kissing Point Military Foundation and Hounds4Healing.  Hoping that things may be a bit easier next year!

Photos of the entries are here.
