Update 30 Sept 2021

Townsville returns to Stage 2 COVID restrictions from 4 pm today.  Happily however the Expo will still go ahead. In compliance with these restrictions there will be limits to those allowed into the display at any one time and masks will be mandatory.  Social distancing and sign in requirements are unchanged.

See you there ( with your mask on)!

North Queensland Scale Modellers are pleased to announce that their seventh annual scale model expo and competition will (assuming no major changes in the COVID 19 regulations) take place over the Queens birthday long weekend on Saturday the 2nd  and Sunday the 3rd  of October 2021, at the Army Museum North Queensland.

There have been some changes to the competition rules, categories and judging so please pay attention to the information here and on the entry form.

For example, there will only be 2 Aircraft categories this year and these will be based on the size of the finished model rather than the model's scale.  We will be asking a team experienced modellers to act as judges and  judging will now be a formal process with each model judged against a list of criteria. The process will be overseen by a chief judge who will adjudicate any tied scores and confirm results.

Entry forms must be submitted prior to the event.

The entry form can be downloaded here or collected from the RC Shop Townsville

Completed entry forms can either be left at the RC Shop, Townsville  or forwarded electronically via email or Facebook messenger (details are on the entry form).
